Great was born in Zimbabwe and worked in the Accounting Department of a large government entity as an Accounting Officer for eight years, before migrating to London England in 1998 to further his studies. Great enrolled at Greenwich University and completed his Bachelor of Arts majoring in Politics with Media Writing in 2005.

During this time Great worked in the Aged Care and Disability industries in various roles including as a Manager and Trainer. Great moved to Australia in 2014 and worked in New South Wales and South Australia with Disability Organisations. Great also spent some time as a Contract Planner at the National Disability Insurance Agency in Newcastle and Darwin. Great moved on to work as a Director of Corporate Services, NDIS and Aged Care Services for an Indigenous Corporation for three years. He was instrumental in setting up the Disability Services whilst there until leaving at the start of 2020 moving back to settle in Canberra where he is now concentrating on Quality Audit Work and other Consultancy work with a national reach.

Great is bilingual, is fluent in English with Shona as his first language, and is married with 3 children and a keen golfer.
